MMC Announces the Release of New Health Insurance Premium Payment System (September 2007)
At the 2007 National Third Party Liability (TPL)/Coordination of Benefits (COB) Conference, MMC hosted an exhibit to introduce our new enterprise web based Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) system. The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, with the support of the COB/TPL Technical Advisory Group, hosted this year’s conference. The Conference theme, “Helping the Recovery Process,” reflected the fact that States are looking for fresh ideas to assist them in maximizing their recovery and cost containment efforts.
Numerous developments in the past year have impacted State recovery programs, including full implementation of the related provisions of the Deficit Reduction Act and the Ahlborn Decision. The Conference offered an opportunity to learn more about these challenges and how states have responded. In addition, conference participants were offered “Back to the Basics” workshops that reviewed the fundamentals of an effective recovery program.
