October 28th, 2005
On October 28th, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) awarded a Total Information Processing Support Services 3 (TIPSS-3) contract to Northrop Grumman in a full and open competition portion of the TIPSS-3 procurement. We were given awards in all three task areas—Information System Services, System Security Services, and Strategic Business Services.

This IDIQ task order contract award is sponsored by the Treasury Department and has a maximum value of $3B that can be used by any Federal agency. There will be a base year plus four option years. The historical base value of the current TIPSS-2 program in the five-year total period of performance has been on the order of $161 million – of course, we expect additional growth beyond that amount for TIPSS 3.

Our partners contributed strongly to our success. Within Northrop Grumman IT we were supported by TASC and DES, both contributing significantly to the security task area. Externally, Sapient and MMC, a small business, both supported us with significant business process re-engineering capabilities. In addition to these companies, we received support from additional partner firms of BAE, EIS, IMSI, InSysCo, LGB, MGroup, MilVets, NikSoft, and NRI.
