Doug Mitchell is the founder of C D Mitchell & Company the first of the MMC companies beginning operations in 1991.  In subsequent years, Mr. Mitchell personally incubated several new start-ups, each focusing on a particular industry sector or service specialty. Each company has enjoyed continuous operation since inception. Mr. Mitchell's entrepreneurial spirit and keen financial acumen have played a key role in the success of the companies we now refer to as MMC Group.

MMC provides strategic staffing and outsourcing services to Fortune 1000 companies, technology system integrators, and government agencies in over 40 states.  MMC is organized as a women-owned, HUB certified business in Texas for the purpose of delivering staffing and project management to a number of government and commercial entities. 

MMC is one of 18 approved preferred suppliers of technical staffing services to EDS/HP.  MMC has provided services on assignments as small as one person and as large as 1,100 person outsourcing assignments.  MMC has provided staff nationwide and offshore.

Mr. Mitchell has over 25 years FDIC/RTC experience.  He has personally been involved in closings, temporary staffing, and post closing asset management assignments with the FDIC in hundreds of institutions throughout his career.  The company has maintained continuous contracts since inception to provide closing services for failed financial institutions with the FDIC/RTC. Mr. Mitchell is personally known by numerous FDIC Executives, Receivers in Charge, and Closing Managers. During his career, Mr. Mitchell has also been frequently consulted and retained by assuming institution executive management and board of directors on very complex and sensitive financial institution acquisitions.

Prior to starting Mir, Mitchell & Company, Mr. Mitchell served as the National Contracting Officer/Principal for Grant Thornton, a global accounting, tax and business advisory organization. While there, he led the design and implementation of the firm's government approved contract cost accounting system. In addition, he was extensively involved in the project management and administration of large, multi-office engagements for the public sector. This included the firm's largest public accounting services contract, encompassing more than one million person-hours and twenty-two subcontracting firms.

Before Mr. Mitchell moved to Grant Thornton, he worked for the Government Telecommunications Group of Rockwell International (now Boeing Integrated Defense Systems). He was responsible for all government liaison work with respect to fiscal policies and procedures for the Group. Doug also worked at RCA Corporation as a Senior Contract Negotiator, responsible for the negotiation and administration of various stateside and overseas government contracts, including those of the Departments of Defense, Labor, Commerce, and NASA.

Mr. Mitchell is a past member of the Board of Directors, City of Dallas Economic Development Advisory Board; the Dallas Independent School District Minority Business Enterprise Advisory Board; the Dallas Independent School District Minority Business Enterprise Advisory Committee; and the Dallas Chamber of Commerce/Dallas Citizens Council, Joint Subcommittee on Entrepreneurial Development.  Previous professional memberships include the National Contract Management Association, National Management Association, and National Assistance Management Association.  Mr. Mitchell is a graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Business.
